Dan Cammish went fastest in the opening Free Practice session of the weekend on the Donington Park Grand Prix circuit this morning (Saturday).

The NAPA Racing UK driver lapped the East Midlands circuit's longer layout in 1m41.679s this morning to edge out his teammate Daniel Rowbottom by just 0.078s. The 30-minute session was strong all-round for the NAPA liveried Ford Focus STs with reigning champion Ash Sutton fourth whilst Sam Osborne fell just shy of the top-ten in the fourth car.

Tom Ingram was quickest of the non-Fords in third, underlining the pace which has seen him rise to the top of the BTCC standings coming into the weekend. The 2022 title winner was just over half a second away from Cammish's benchmark in his Hyundai i30N.

Aron Taylor-Smith led a strong charge from the Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing Vauxhalls in fifth, four places ahead of teammate Mikey Doble. They were split by Josh Cook, Tom Chilton and Andrew Watson. Four-time series winner Colin Turkington completed the top-ten.

Big names further down the order included Jake Hill in 12th whilst Rob Huff was 16th after causing an early red flag stoppage.
