Legendary British Touring Car Championship broadcaster Steve Rider will join the tin top celebrations at Super Touring Power 2, which returns to Brands Hatch on 29/30 June. Rider will attend as a special guest on the Sunday, where he will appear on the Autosport Stage and meet with fans.

Rider, who is a familiar face to fans of the modern BTCC having presented regular live coverage on ITV since 2009, has a long history with Britain’s leading car racing series. Indeed, it was during his time as one of the main presenters of Grandstand on the BBC that the national broadcaster began to show regular coverage.

This meant that Rider became synonymous, alongside Murray Walker, through two of the championship’s best loved periods; the fire-breathing Ford Sierra RS500 era of the late ‘80s and the Super Touring years of the 1990s. And he remains relevant today, overseeing the current generation of stars on ‘the box’.

Speaking of the Super Touring era, Rider said: “These are the Super Touring personalities who set the foundation of the BTCC as we know it today. It will be great to meet up once again.”

Rider joins John Cleland, Rob Huff and Andy Rouse as part of the event’s guest line-up, whilst other notable personalities including Steve Soper, Anthony Reid and Jake Hill are all confirmed to appear on the track.
