A huge 38-car grid will tackle this weekend’s British GT Championship contest at Donington Park, with 10 different manufacturers across the GT3 and GT4 divisions represented in the line-up.

McLaren has the biggest accumulation with 10 cars in total, including seven staggering 720S GT3 Evo machines and three Artuta GT4s.

Seven Mercedes-AMG cars will also be in action, with four GT3 Evos and three in the GT4 division, and five Aston Martins, including three Vantage AMR GT3s. BMW also has five M4s on the grid, while Audi, Lamborghini, Lotus, Ginetta and Ford will each be represented by two cars, with a sole Toyota GR Supra GT4 completing the line-up.

The huge variety allied to a similar mix of engine types, including V6s, V8s and V10s ensures there’s a feast for the eyes and the ears as the packed grid blasts down to Redgate and through the Craner Curves at the start of Sunday’s epic three hour race. Driver changes, pit stops and strategy will all play their part, and there’s always drama when British GT visits Donington Park!

Shaun Balfe and Adam Smalley currently lead the title battle in their McLaren following their victory in round three last time out at Silverstone, but they’re pursued closely by the Lamborghini Huracan of father and son duo, Rob and Ricky Collard.

The second Lambo of Alex Martin and Sandy Mitchell, and the Mercedes of Ian Loggie and Phil Keen are also among the early front-runners, but the three-hour contest is a big points scoring opportunity and things could change rapidly at the front this weekend!

Sizeable grids are a feature all weekend, with 26 drivers expected in the Ginetta Junior Championship for 14-17-year-olds, and 21 machines in the Caterham Seven Championship. Strong line-ups are also anticipated in GB4, Ginetta GT Academy and the Ginetta GT Championships.

Tickets are available in advance until 4pm on Thursday 23 May, after which they’ll be available at gate prices upon arrival at the venue during the event. Main race day (Sunday) admission for adults is priced at £25, with further savings for teenagers aged 13-15, and free entry all weekend for children under-13.
