Rob Huff took the final win of the weekend in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton, 20 years on from his last BTCC win at the same circuit.

Huff completed a remarkable drive through the field on soft tyres to take victory for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK ahead of the two LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ drivers, Aiden Moffat and Josh Cook, making it an all Toyota Corolla GR Sport podium.

Huff started the race in 14th position and swiftly made up positions on the soft tyre and was in sixth position at the start of the third lap. He then joined the fight for the podium places and the hunt for the leaders.

Race one and two winner Jake Hill had started in ninth on the wet tyre and capitalised early on the added grip. By Agostini, Hill was in second, behind Aiden Moffat, who he then overtook for the lead in Coram. Andrew Watson, Huff’s teammate, did the same strategy and followed Hill through. At the end of the first lap, they were one-two and tried to pull away.

Hill did as Watson fell back into the challenging Moffat, Cook and Huff group. At half distance, Hill had a 7.5s gap to Moffat but the wet tyre was beginning to fade. As Huff fought to second past a sliding Moffat, the gap to the lead shrunk. By lap nine, Hill had 1.7s back to Huff and on the same lap, Huff went through into the lead at Agostini. Hill began to drop like a stone and fell out of the podium places rapidly.

The next lap, Hill fell behind Ingram and later was passed by Sutton and Chilton too. On the final lap Turkington and Thompson got by as well. The wet tyre gamble had worked in as such as Hill finished where he started.

Huff, Moffat and Cook continued to the finish to take the popular podium in what has been an important weekend for the championship. Leaving Snetterton, Sutton continues to lead the way on 121 points with Turkington, on 111 and Ingram and Hill on 110 each.
