Daniel Rowbottom topped the first Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship session of the weekend at Donington Park this morning (Saturday). The NAPA Racing UK driver lapped the East Midlands venue's Grand Prix circuit in 1m33.376s to lead the way.

The Ford Focus ST was just over a tenth of a second faster than the Team VERTU Hyundai of championship leader Tom Ingram at the end of the 35-minute session. This was followed by a slightly larger gap back to Dan Lloyd's Restart Racing Hyundai in third.

Dan Cammish was fourth in the first of the Valvoline liveried Fords, replicating one of the series' classic designs in fourth with four-time champion Ash Sutton sixth in the other. The teammates were split by Charles Rainford in the leading BMW in fifth. 

In the lower reaches of the top-10, Aron Taylor-Smith was seventh in the best of the works Toyotas, with Tom Chilton and Chris Smiley just behind. Daryl DeLeon was 10th in his WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport.
