Arden Motorsport has confirmed that karting graduate Charlie Myers will join the team for this weekend’s (25/26 April) GB4 Championship season-opener at Silverstone, completing the series’ record 29-car grid.

The 16-year-old Silverstone local will make his car-racing debut at the home of the British Grand Prix, as he steps out of karting for the first time.

A chance indoor karting party with friends sparked Charlie’s initial interest in racing, and he began racing competitively at the age of 13, very quickly managing to climb the ranks of Junior X30.

His career has predominantly been within the UK, including the British Karting Championship as well as rounds of the PFI Club and Whilton Mill Club series more recently.

While focusing on British competition, he has also raced in Europe in the IAME Benelux Series, and qualified on pole at Le Mans in the Eurocup.

Charlie has participated in the majority of pre-season testing as he readied himself for the step up to GB4. Despite a lack of experience compared to many of the drivers on this year’s grid, he’s been a regular within the midfield runners, and was 16th quickest on day one at Oulton Park.

He completes Arden’s cosmopolitan GB4 line-up for the year ahead, joining Singaporean Michael Koh and French driver Solenn Amrouche at the Banbury-based team.

Charlie Myers: “I am excited and proud to be joining Arden Motorsport for the 2026 GB4 Championship. I have been given the opportunity to step up this year, from karting, and I’m eager to learn and develop as the season progresses and make a statement as a rookie.

“I am very much looking forward to round one and getting the season started. A big thank you to my family, sponsors Unlockd and Live Happy, and management SECTR Sports Management for making this happen."

Team Principal Garry Horner: “We’re very pleased to complete our GB4 line-up for the 2026 season with the signing of Charlie Myers. He’s proven himself to be a talented individual in his short karting career, and we’re looking forward to working with him as he adapts to car racing for the first time. He’s done well in pre-season, and if he keeps up his rate of development, he should threaten the top half of the field before too long.”
