MotorSport Vision (MSV) has strengthened Motorsport News, both in terms of leadership and editorial, with the appointment of David Harris as Head of Publishing and George Sanderson as Single Seater Reporter. These arrivals underline MSV’s ongoing commitment to growing the beloved title.
These enhancements to the brand’s business leadership and editorial capability will enable Motorsport News to further grow, and deliver on its promise to provide detailed, regular coverage of motorsport in the UK. This follows an extensive overhaul of the existing print product over recent months. The paper recently returned to a full weekly schedule, with expanded issues at busier parts of the season and expanded coverage of grassroots competition, in addition to a rebrand and improved paper quality.
David Harris returns to a title he previously served as Advertising Manager for, during a 20-year stint at Haymarket Media. He now joins the business to take responsibility for the overall publishing strategy of Motorsport News, overseeing audience engagement, commercial growth and digital development as the title continues to evolve in a fast-changing media landscape.
This appointment reflects the seriousness of MSV’s ambition for Motorsport News, investing in experienced leadership that can build on the publication’s heritage while accelerating its development for modern motorsport fans.
Alongside Harris’s appointment, George Sanderson recently joined Motorsport News as Single Seater Reporter. Previously a regular within the GB3 and GB4 paddocks working for the Feeder Series website, Sanderson will reinforce the publication’s news gathering and feature output, with an expert focus on the junior career ladder.
The newcomers are an extension of the existing team, with long-standing Editor Matt James continuing to steer written content alongside Deputy Editor Graham Keilloh. Regular contributors, including historics and national rallying specialist Paul Lawrence, will also remain key pillars of published output.
In addition to the new full-time appointments, Motorsport News has appointed Kit Brough as Advertising Sales Partner to assist with the outlet’s commercial growth. Those wishing to advertise in Motorsport News can make enquiries at [email protected].
David Harris said: “Motorsport News is an iconic brand in UK motorsport, and I’m hugely excited to be returning to the title and taking on this role at such a pivotal moment. MSV’s commitment to investing in the title offers a real opportunity to grow Motorsport News by strengthening its digital presence, expanding its editorial reach and continuing to deliver authoritative, passionate journalism for fans at every level of the sport.”
Jonathan Palmer, MSV Chief Executive, said: “We took over Motorsport News because I was increasingly concerned about the lack of credible, authoritative coverage of the UK’s thriving motorsport scene. I’m pleased to say that we’ve managed to improve this significantly during an initial period of stabilisation, but we’re hugely ambitious about what else we can achieve. Bringing David on board as Head of Publishing, and complementing the existing editorial talent with George’s enthusiasm, underlines our determination to invest in quality journalism and ensure this title thrives for the next generation of motorsport fans and participants.”
