Up and coming karting graduate Toby Campbell will make his single-seater debut in the GB4 Winter Series with KMR Sport at Snetterton on 24/25 October.

The 18-year-old from Liverpool has battled his way up the ranks in a self-funded mission to break through into car racing.

His karting career began at the age of nine after gaining inspiration from videos on YouTube. After a couple of years of rental karting at Teamsport in Liverpool, he was able to increase his karting commitments after gaining a paper round at the age of 12, allowing him to fund more time at his local circuit.

His quest for funding continued by building and selling computers, before gaining a weekend job, allowing him to enter a season of national karting in the UK.

A desire to move to cars came after a free test day in a Ginetta GT Academy car, and by using funds obtained from his weekend jobs and side hustles, he was able to gain further single-seater testing experience in GB4.

Once his A Level commitments were complete, Toby has been able to gain sponsorship from partners including Proceed Group, Smiling Wolf and Fixture, allowing him to join the grid at Snetterton with the multiple champions KMR Sport.

Toby Campbell: “I’m really excited to be making my car racing debut in the GB4 Winter Series with multiple championship-winning team KMR Sport. I am so grateful for the support from my sponsors, which has allowed me to take this next step in my career. Although my testing has been limited, I feel confident in my ability, and I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running at Snetterton and bringing home some strong results.”

Team Principal Kevin Mills: “Toby is one of the most determined drivers we’ve worked with and we’re really pleased that we’ve been able to create an opportunity for him to give car racing a go at Snetterton. He’s had to work super hard for this opportunity, and while his experience levels are lower than many of the drivers that will be on the grid, his dedication will more than make up for it. There will be plenty of people rooting for him during the Winter Series and he deserves some good results.”
