JHR Developments will return to the GB3 Championship grid at next weekend’s 2026 season finale in Barcelona, with Lewis Wherrell and Thomas Ingram-Hill forming an exciting two-car line-up for the Derbyshire team.

The event at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 7–8 November marks a significant step for both drivers as they progress to GB3 machinery, while opening a new chapter in JHR’s involvement in one of Europe’s leading junior single-seater championships.

For Wherrell, the move continues his relationship with JHR following a successful British F4 campaign. Having established himself as a race winner and championship contender with the team, he will now take on the challenge of translating that experience into a more powerful car with significantly greater aerodynamic performance.

Remaining within familiar surroundings will provide valuable continuity as he adapts to the demands of GB3. His existing relationships with JHR’s engineers and mechanics will offer a strong foundation, allowing driver and team to build on the understanding developed throughout their season together.

Ingram-Hill joins the line-up following a race-winning campaign in the GB4 Championship. His progression to GB3 represents another important stage in a career that has already encompassed Ginetta Junior, British F4 and GB4 competition.

That varied experience will provide a useful platform as he gets to grips with a new team and car. Sharing the garage with Wherrell will also give JHR two promising young drivers approaching the weekend with the same opportunity to learn and demonstrate their potential.

The Barcelona appearance brings together JHR’s experience of developing young talent and the ambitions of two drivers ready to test themselves at the next level. For the team, it is an opportunity to resume its GB3 programme while supporting another step along the single-seater pathway.

Lewis Wherrell: “I can’t wait to make my GB3 Championship debut, especially with JHR. We’ve had a brilliant season together in British F4, so having the opportunity to take this next step with a team I know so well makes it even more exciting.

“Moving up to GB3 will be a new challenge and there will be plenty to learn, but I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the car in Barcelona. My focus will be on learning as much as possible, building throughout the weekend and making the most of the opportunity. I’m excited to see what we can achieve together.”

Thomas Ingram Hill: “I'm really grateful for the opportunity to make my GB3 debut in Barcelona at the final round of the championship. It's a big step up from GB4 - more power, more downforce and a really strong field - so I'm going in with my feet on the ground.

"The main goal is mileage in preparation for next year. I want to get as many laps under my belt as I can, learn from every session and lean on the team's experience to understand the car properly. I’m looking forward to the weekend!”

Steven Hunter, Team Principal: “We’re very pleased to be back on the GB3 Championship grid and to be fielding two really exciting prospects for the season finale in Barcelona. Lewis has had a stellar season with us in British F4, winning multiple races and challenging for the championship in his debut season. I’m equally excited to see how Thomas gets on in the GB3 car after his season in GB4.”
